Through Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) drawings, applicants are regularly invited to apply for a provincial nomination in Manitoba. Under its Expression of Interest (EOI) method, the MPNP regularly holds draws to choose applicants who will go on to file a full application for permanent residency.
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program
Canada’s first Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) was the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), which was introduced in 1998. Based on the demands of the province’s labor market, demographics, and economy, the MPNP was created to support the expansion of Manitoba’s economy through immigration.
About 418 new immigrants were accepted into the MPNP in the first year of its establishment. These days, Manitoba nominates over 10,000 new aspirants to immigrate annually under its many immigration intake schemes.
You have three alternatives if you intend to apply through the MPNP:
Business Investor Stream
- Entrepreneur Pathway
- Farm Investor Pathway
International Education Stream
- Career Employment Pathway
- Graduate Internship Pathway
- International Student Entrepreneur Pilot
Skilled Worker Stream
- Skilled Worker in Manitoba
- Skilled Worker Overseas
The streams offered by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program are divided into enhanced and base categories.
The streams that are connected to Canada’s well-known Express Entry Program are known as enhanced streams. Three main federal economic immigration programs are managed by the Express Entry Program, which is in charge of processing applications for permanent status. Candidates are granted a point score through the point-based Express Entry method, which is based on the Comprehensive Ranking method (CRS). The top scorers receive invites to submit an application for permanent residence in Canada.
In the event that they are not eligible for Express Entry, candidates may still choose to be nominated through an upgraded provincial program. Candidates will receive an additional 600 points if they fulfill the qualifying score requirements in the Manitoba PNP points calculator and other requirements. This practically guarantees an ITA in a future Manitoba PNP draw.
The streams that are not in line with the Express Entry are known as base streams. Those who are successful in receiving a provincial nomination must submit their applications directly to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
